Reflection

This week I experimented with print and expanded upon past projects. I created a digital piece of my character “Bun” from the library of limbs project, as well as a skeleton piece that would inspire my other processes. For screen printing, I used red paint to loosely make skeleton figures which left some abstract marks on the page. I enjoyed this process because it challenged me to not be so in control of my work. I then went back into the prints with a pen to trace out the shapes that I saw. I also made a skeleton stamp out of cardboard and foam. I stamped it multiple times onto a sheet of paper and decided to make other ones of the same figure in different positions. I think the stamp would work nicely on different colored paper or as a way to try to communicate a story. Lastly, I made more prints by arranging string and cardboard on a bigger piece of cardboard to create a big stamp effect. I painted the background papers a variety of colors in order to make the piece more dynamic. I also attended life drawing for the first time and played with different mediums such as color pencil and graphite.
